Beyond the question everyone comes to us with, which is, “What e-bike should I buy?” the number one question we field is what is the most comfortable seat out there. Naturally, every e-bike maker thinks they are putting excellent saddles on their e-bikes, but having sat on hundreds of seats we can verify that they are not all the same. We’re here to review the Electric Bike Co. XL Comfort Saddle and will explain why this is our go-to for greater comfort.

There is no one key to what makes the Electric Bike Co. XL Comfort Saddle better than nearly all other bike seats out there, and that’s part of its secret. But there are a few clues to why it is so successful. Its size is the biggest (haha) reason riders like this saddle so much. It’s larger than most seats on the market. Size matters because greater surface area means less pressure on any one part of your keister and that means feeling better supported.

The saddle is thicker, but it fits the large look of EBC bikes well, and would work for other frames just fine most likely.

You can see the extra cushioning compared to the standard saddle, especially in the nose of the saddle.

Two large springs help dampen the shoxk experience on the road.

The amount of memory foam used in this saddle would perhaps best be described as thiccc.

The Electric Bike Co. XL Comfort Saddle also uses high-quality memory foam inside. Memory foam is a little firmer than traditional foam padded and it conforms to the contours of whatever it supports, which means molding to your shape as opposed to trying to make you fit into its shape. The seat itself is taller than what we typically see, a function of there being more foam inside. It’s also built with two forgiving springs in the rear to absorb shock when you hit bumps and pavement seams.

There’s one more feature of this saddle that makes it special, and it’s not the fact that you can choose between tan and black finishes. The saddle attaches to its base (shell) via 16 independent springs; most saddles are glued directly to the base; with this design the rider is better suspended over the e-bike, giving them superior support. Everyone who rides this saddles says the same thing: “Ooh, that’s comfy!”
