The range of an electric bike (e-bike) battery can vary widely depending on several factors. Here are some key factors that influence e-bike battery range:

  1. Battery Capacity (Ah or Wh): The capacity of the e-bike battery is measured in ampere-hours (Ah) or watt-hours (Wh). Generally, a higher capacity battery will provide a longer range. For example, a 500Wh battery might provide more range than a 400Wh battery, assuming other factors are constant.
  2. Motor Power: The power of the e-bike motor can affect the range. More powerful motors may consume more energy, potentially reducing the overall range. However, efficient motors can offset this to some extent.
  3. Riding Conditions: Factors such as terrain, road incline, and surface can impact the range. Riding uphill, on rough terrain, or against strong winds requires more power and can reduce the battery range.
  4. Pedal Assistance Level: E-bikes often have multiple levels of pedal assistance (PAS). Higher levels of assistance provide more motor support but may consume more battery power. Some e-bikes also have an option to turn off the motor completely and ride the bike manually.
